AIFUL CORPORATION (President and CEO Mitsuhide Fukuda) held hackathon for university students for two days on March18 and March19 in Kyoto.
About 『aihack』
In order to further deepen our "coexistence with society and local communities" to realize our management philosophy of "Earn the trust of society through corporate activity based in integrity" AIFUL Group began sponsoring the hackathon "aihack" in March 2019 and have been conducting ongoing hackathons in Japan and overseas, including our first overseas hackathon in December 2021. The “a i” of “aihack” has two meanings: "show interest = love" for students who will lead the future and human resources in various specialized fields, and "AI" that reminds of technology. Through this event, we hope to deepen the understanding of our business model among talented science and technology students, increase awareness of our company, contribute to the development of sound retail finance, and help achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
*“Hackathon” is a term coined from “hack” and “marathon.” In one event, teams of computer programmers compete with each other by intensively devising programs and services over a given period of time on a given theme.

Comments from the winners
Although I participated under pressure after winning the grand prize last year , I was able to enjoy the experience throughout the process . One of the unique attractions of “aihack” is the opportunity to work with real-world data; the more I learn about the industry, the more my perspective on data evolves, and I can feel my growth each time I participate. I plan to pursue a career in data analysis, and having the chance to work with raw data as a student has been an incredibly valuable experience.
