AIFUL GROUP “aihack Thailand” Hackathon for University Students for Thailand

AIFUL Corporation (President and CEO: Mitsuhide Fukuda) held a three-day hackathon for university students in Thailand from December 10 to December 12 at Chulalongkorn University. 

In order to strengthen our commitment to "coexistence with society and local communities" and advance our management philosophy of "Earn the trust of society through corporate activity based in integrity", AIFUL Group began sponsoring the "aihack" hackathon in March 2019 and have continued to host hackathons both in Japan and overseas, including our first overseas hackathon in December 2021. We have also held events at Indian Institutes of Technology in India and Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology in Thailand. 

The “ai” in “aihack” has two meanings: it refers to “ai” (愛), indicating “interest” or “love,” reflecting our support for talented students who will lead the future in various specialized fields, and it also refers to "AI", symbolizing technology. 

Through this event, we hope to deepen the understanding of our business model among talented science and technology students, increase awareness of our company, contribute to the development of a sustainable  retail finance industry, and help achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Date : Wednesday, December 10 - Friday, December 12, 2025 (3 days) 
Place : Chulalongkorn University 
Participants :137 Students (30 teams) 
Theme : Development of a Scoring Model for Loan Applicants (Credit Default Prediction Model) 

The teams analyzed and developed their models using data provided by AIFUL and competed to achieve the highest prediction accuracy. 
As a result of the evaluation, the “locmal” team was awarded the Grand Prize. 

Through "aihack", AIFUL Group has been fostering both domestic and international students. The "aihack" program also serves as a recruiting activity, as some of the students who participated in the competition had become interested in AIFUL and later joined us as full-time employees. 

Numerous students have developed an interest in AIFUL Group through their participation in "aihack Thailand." Since the launch of this international hackathon, students from top Thai universities, including 14 students from Chulalongkorn University, have been recruited, totaling 17 students. Additionally, students from the Indian Institutes of Technology in India have also been hired, bringing the total number of international recruits to 33.
